The dynamics of a relationship once you are married are stressful enough but throw in a pregnancy or baby and it can become extremely taxing on a couple.  I have just felt in the past few days that my husband and I are FINALLY getting into a rhythm and routine with each other.  I've read that around the 6 week mark it starts to become easier with a newborn.  I was lucky enough to have a wonderful support system of family and friends while pregnant but my husband was beyond wonderful.  Sometimes being pregnant can feel so alone and having a partner that is supportive and loving really does matter.  One of my good friends is newly pregnant and experiencing some of the same feelings I had/have.  It's especially difficult while many of our friends are still living the party scene and being pregnant quickly makes you feel left out.  Luckily we now have each other to share similar stories and relate to one another.  It certainly doesn't magically change once you give birth to partying like rock stars again.  Our son is very good all day long but at about 6 in the evening he begins to lose his cool.  It's as if he has been overstimulated from the day and needs to completely calm down.  The only thing that soothes him is putting him into his jammies and then wrapping him tightly in his velcro swaddle.  This swaddle has been a lifesaver for us!  As soon as he gets into it you can watch him starting to calm down from sensory overload.  His eyes which were once bright eyed and bushy tailed then start to close as he begins batting them and getting sleepy for the evening.  By 9:00 he's like clock work and into his crib he must go because he is exhausted!  I'm so grateful that FJ is getting into a routine and my husband and I are feeling more "normal."  Now if I could just help my Mom find some relief things would be great!...
