4/15/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Monday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 12. April 2014 14:45

Today was a staff pot-luck.  I was pleasantly surprised by all the somewhat healthy foods.  There were at least five different kinds of salad, a veggie tray, and fruit salad.  Now they all had dressing on them already so who knows if that was light or not.  But, still I was impressed with the amount of "green."  There was of course, a lot of delectable looking desserts.  If I were on maintenance I would've had a veggie dog (yep, can you believe it?!  veggie dogs!).  I won't lie that there was a moment of feeling sorry for myself as everyone dug into the spread of food and I heated up my Jenny Craig.  I don't even like pork and the aroma of BBQ was killer.  Do you ever have these moments when a large group of people are participating in some kind of celebration with food and you're the only one who is not?  It is frustrating.  I just keep telling myself that the food is not worth it to me.  I'm eating to live; not living to eat.  What's more frustrating is that I have gained this week (at least on my scale).  I worked out once and have done a lot of yard work - I'm hoping it is muscle that I've gained but who knows?  I'm thinking I need to drastically change up my diet next week to "shock" my metabolism.
